Claudia Girrbach

Claudia Girrbach is currently a lecturer at Stanford University and Sr Director at Gap, Inc. She publishes a Business Sustainability at Going Green Blog to support her focus on applying the business skills honed in the first half of her career to accelerate the adoption of green best practices. The challenges of deploying green programs are similar to her experiences with emerging technologies.

Claudia's skills in the green space include:

Analyzing problem drivers and then completing diverse research to find solutions that are innovative and practical - It’s the classic paper compared to plastic and then finding a reusable cloth bag (no matter its origin) is better yet.

Selling new approaches to management - Make green a viable business model that fits a particular organization’s market position, culture and competencies.

Convincing strategic partners to participate in programs - Provide a compelling answer to “Green is nice, but what’s in it for me?”

Managing programs to stay focused on scope and benefits to ensure successful delivery - Deliver green benefits early and continue to iterate

Building of robust operational organization and practices - Sustain the change
